GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. FURMAN
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will return home to host the Furman Paladins Thursday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.

Samford enters the week with a record of 7-7 overall and 4-1 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs split two games at Chattanooga last week. Furman has a mark of 5-9 overall and 1-4 in league play. The Paladins dropped two games at Mercer last week.
Samford and Furman have met 28 previous times, with Samford holding a 15-13 advantage in the series. Last season, the teams met three times, with Furman winning two of the three. The Paladins took both regular season matchups, but Samford claimed a 75-45 win over Furman in the semifinals of the Southern Conference Tournament.

RAMIL MAKES IMMEDIATE IMPACT: Samford junior forward
Annie Ramil, a transfer from Binghamton University, has stepped in and made an immediate impact this season. Ramil is averaging 9.8 points per game, and she leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 7.6 boards per contest. She had a break-out game against Mercer, scoring a career-high 28 points and pulling down a career-high 15 rebounds, earning SoCon Player of the Week honors for her efforts. She has recorded a team-high four double-doubles so far this season.
COURNOYER BRINGS A SPARK: After missing the first three games of the season with an injury, junior
Andrea Cournoyer has provided a needed spark for the Bulldogs in the last 11 games. The Louisiana transfer is averaging a team-high 16.3 points per game. She scored a career-high 26 points, and had five rebounds and five assists in the team's 71-60 win at Chattanooga on Jan. 21. She has scored in double figures in nine of the 11 games in which she has played.
ARMSTRONG REACHES CAREER MILESTONE: During Samford's first win at Western Carolina,
Natalie Armstrong became just the ninth player in program history to score 1,000 career points. She currently ranks eighth in program history with 1,025 career points.
AMONG SOCON LEADERS: Entering this game, Samford, as a team, leads the Southern Conference in field goal percentage (.442), three-point field goal percentage (.360) and three-pointers made per game (7.4). The Bulldogs also rank second in the league in scoring (69.2 ppg.), rebounding defense (35.0), assist-turnover ratio (0.8) and defensive rebounds (26.4).
OMAR LEADING THE LEAGUE: Samford senior point guard
Raven Omar currently leads the Southern Conference in total assists with 64, and she ranks second in the league in assists per game at 4.6. She had a career-high nine assists in a win over Alabama-Huntsville on Dec. 31.
SAMFORD IN SOCON PLAY: Since joining the Southern Conference in 2008, Samford has a record of 124-83 in league games. Against the current members of the SoCon, Samford has an all-time record of 108-80. Samford's all-time record against each current SoCon team is: Chattanooga (9-26), ETSU (8-6), Furman (15-13), Mercer (8-19), UNCG (19-7), Western Carolina (25-4) and Wofford (24-5).
SAMFORD AT HOME: In its 23-plus seasons of women's basketball, Samford has an all-time record of 185-118 at home. In 13-plus seasons in the Pete Hanna Center, the Bulldogs are 124-47 in their current home. In 10 seasons in Seibert Hall, Samford had a record of 61-71 in that facility. Last season, Samford posted a record of 6-5 in home games. This season, the Bulldogs have 10 home games on their schedule, and the team is currently 4-1 in those contests.
SAMFORD AGAINST SOUTH CAROLINA TEAMS: Samford has an all-time record of 52-31 against teams from the state of South Carolina, including a 15-13 mark against Furman.
