BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team set six school records, one Southern Conference record and one Pete Hanna Center record (men or women) on its way to a 135-60 win over Birmingham-Southern Monday night in the Hanna Center.

The Bulldogs set program records for points scored (135), points scored in a half (69), points in a quarter (41), margin of victory (75), field goals made (53) and assists (29). The 135 points also set a SoCon record, and is a new Pete Hanna Center record, for a men's or women's regular-season game.

With the win, Samford improves to 3-6 on the season. The game counted as an exhibition game for BSC. Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Samford raced out to an early 11-0 lead with 6:32 left in the first quarter following a basket by Cournoyer.
- The Bulldogs stretched their lead to 17 points in the first quarter at 22-5 with 2:58 left in the period after a layup by Leipold.
- Samford held a 25-15 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- In the second quarter, Samford pushed its lead to 20 points at 42-22 with 5:48 to go in the period after a layup by Makaila Woolard.
- Samford led by as many as 39 points in the second quarter and took a 66-28 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- Samford opened the third quarter with a 16-0 run to push its lead to 82-28 with 6:12 left in the quarter after a layup by Leipold.
- Samford held a 101-40 lead at the end of the third quarter.
- The Bulldogs led by as many as 75 points in the fourth quarter.
- Samford closed the game with a 135-60 victory.
