Bulldog Women’s Tennis To Compete In ITA Southern Regional

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Six members of the Samford women's tennis team will compete in the ITA Southern Regionals, hosted by the University of Alabama, Oct. 14-19.
The players representing Samford at the event will be Alexis Lopez, Sofia Zaprianov, Olivia Jablonski, Lindsay Song, Ally Hayduk and Samantha Nanere.
Other schools competing in the event will be Alabama, Alcorn State, Auburn, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Lafayette, Louisiana Monroe, Louisiana Tech, LSU, McNeese State, Mississippi State, Northwestern State, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southern Miss, UAB, Troy and Tulane. Including qualifying matches, the tournament will consist of 113 singles players and 49 doubles teams.
The tournament will start Thursday with two singles qualifying rounds. Friday's schedule includes the final qualifying singles round and the first round of doubles. On Saturday, the doubles rounds of 32 and 16, as well as the singles main draw first round will be played.
The singles round of 16, and the quarterfinals for singles and doubles will take place Sunday, with the semifinals set for Monday and the finals scheduled for Tuesday.
