BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford softball team will travel to Hattiesburg, Mississippi to open the weekend series against Southern Miss with a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 20 starting at 1 p.m. at the Southern Miss Softball Complex. The Bulldogs will then host the Golden Eagles for a single game on Sunday, Mar. 21 at 1 p.m. at the Samford Softball Field.

• Amanda Briskin currently leads the Bulldogs with a .346 batting average after starting and playing in 18 games for Samford. She has recorded nine runs on 18 total hits while registering one double and one RBI.
• Ryan Brzozoski is also producing positive results at the plate with a .315 batting average after 54 appearances at the plate. She has logged four runs on 17 hits, one double, and seven RBIs.
• Taylor DeCelles and Emily Barnett are coming off a combined no-hitter this past weekend in the circle for the first time since 2016. Barnett has a current ERA of 2.32 and has pitched 48.1 innings for the Bulldogs. She has posted a total of 39 strikeouts after facing 193 at bats.

• Southern Miss has captured 16 wins while dropping nine games this season. The Golden Eagles competed in the Mercer Bears Classic where they found back-to-back wins against Western Carolina and a 7-1 victory over Mercer.
• Alyssa Davis is a top contender for Southern Miss, starting in all 25 games for the Golden Eagles. She has earned eight runs on 26 hits, three doubles, two home runs, and 16 RBIs.
• Kaylan Ladner leads Southern Miss in the circle with seven wins and only one loss this season. She has pitched a total of 44.0 innings while striking out 54 batters at the plate.
