2021 SAMFORD FOOTBALL SCHEDULE
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – A trip to SEC power Florida, games with a pair of former OVC rivals, as well as the always tough Southern Conference slate highlight Samford's 2021 football schedule, released by head coach
Chris Hatcher Monday.
Samford will open the season with a home game against former OVC foe Tennessee Tech on Thursday, Sept. 2. The following Saturday, Sept. 11, the Bulldogs will play at UT Martin, another former OVC rival. This will mark the first time Samford has faced UT Martin since leaving the OVC for the Southern Conference in 2008. The Bulldogs played at Tennessee Tech in a thrilling, double-overtime game during the 2019 season.
The Bulldogs will open Southern Conference play with a game at Western Carolina Sept. 18. On Sept. 25, Samford will host ETSU on Family Weekend at Seibert Stadium.
Samford will play the next two games on the road. The Bulldogs will play at Mercer Oct. 2. After an open week, the team will then travel to play at Wofford Oct. 16. Samford will return home to host Chattanooga, Oct. 23, followed by a trip to VMI Oct. 30.
The team will host The Citadel Nov. 6 for the Bulldogs' 2021 Homecoming game. Samford will then step out of SoCon play with a game at perennial SEC power Florida Nov. 13. Samford and Florida have met just twice previously, with the two meetings coming in 1921 and 1922.
The Bulldogs will wrap up the regular season with a home game against Furman Nov. 20.
