SAMFORD AT WOFFORD GAME NOTES (PDF)

SPARTANBURG. S.C. – The Samford baseball team will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., for a key Southern Conference series at Wofford this weekend. The teams are set to play a single game Friday at 4 p.m. (CT), and a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT).
 
Samford enters the series with a record of 23-17 overall and 13-5 in SoCon play after dropping two of its three games to Mercer last weekend. Wofford is currently 24-15 overall and 12-6 in conference play. The Terriers are coming off a 4-3, 14-inning loss at Georgia State Tuesday night.

• Samford's probable rotation for this weekend will be left-handed pitcher Samuel Strickland, right-handed pitcher Jesse McCord and right-hander Zach Hester. Strickland has a 3-2 record with a 4.88 ERA. McCord has posted a 3-5 record and a 6.19 ERA. Hester has a 1-3 record and a 5.79 ERA.

• Samford is 7-12 in road games so far this season, but the Bulldogs have a mark of 4-2 in Southern Conference road games.
• Samford head coach Casey Dunn, already the winningest coach in Samford history, enters the weekend with 521 career wins, making him the first Samford coach in any sport to win 500 games. Dunn has won four conference titles, and has posted 12 30-win seasons during his 16-plus seasons at Samford.
