KEY PLAYS
  • After 55 minutes of a scoreless match in Tuscaloosa, super senior Alyssa Frazier put a goal in the back of the net for Samford, marking her 12th career goal and second on the season, while juniors Taylor Yount and Jennifer Seward each pitched in with an assist. Seward made her way down the right flank and crossed the ball into the 18-yard box where Yount flicked it on with her head. It then found the feet of Frazier who struck the ball on the volley past Alabama's goalkeeper, Brooke Bollinger, for the game-winning finish.
  • With 35 minutes left in the second period, the Bulldogs kept a united front defensively with senior goalkeeper Morgan McAslan leading the way with six saves. The Crimson Tide's best chance to earn the equalizer came at the 79th minute mark after Sasha Pickard struck a ball that hit the left post and then bounced out straight to her feet for a prime opportunity in front of goal. However, McAslan was quick on her feet and was able to make the save, allowing for the Bulldogs to earn their second win of the season.
