Samford Women’s Basketball Welcomes Talladega To The Pete Hanna Center

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – To close out a two-game home swing, the Samford women's basketball team will play host to the Tornadoes of Talladega on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. CT at the Pete Hanna Center with the game streaming on ESPN+. Tickets can be found here.

Samford enters the matchup with a 2-3 record through the first five games of the 2022-23 season. Last time out, The Bulldogs rode a second-half offensive onslaught to cage the Tigers of Miles by a score of 77-52.

The Bulldogs of Samford and the Tornadoes of Talladega are meeting for the third time in program history. Tuesday will be the first meeting between the two squads since Samford toppled Talladega 88-70 last season.

In the first five games of the season, Samford coach Carley Kuhns has started the lineup of Andrea Cournoyer, Sussy Ngulefac, Kathleen Wheeler, Alyssa Tarpley and Sanaa Redmond.

Entering the Talladega game, Cournoyer is averaging a Southern Conference-best 24.6 points per game, which is good enough to rank ninth nationally. The senior guard ranks first in the SoCon and fifth in the country with 123 total points.
