BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford women's basketball team (12-13, 7-4 SoCon) will travel to Greenville, S.C., to take on the Furman Paladins (14-10, 7-3 SoCon) Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at Timmons Arena. The game can be seen live on ESPN+. Live stats will also be available at www.FurmanPaladins.com.
- Samford and Furman are meeting for the 32nd time, with Samford owning an 18-13 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, on Jan. 22, with Samford earning a 90-81 in the Pete Hanna Center.
- Samford last played on Feb. 12, with the Bulldogs earning a 64-51 win over Western Carolina. Samford was led in the win by freshman Sussy Ngulefac with 15 points, making 7-of-8 shots from the floor. Andrea Cournoyer had 11 points and four assists, and Mallory Hampton added 11 points as well. Annie Ramil had eight points and five rebounds for Samford.
- Furman is coming off a 72-54 loss at Wofford on Saturday. For Furman in the loss, Tierra Hodges had 17 points and 17 rebounds. Tate Walters had 10 points for the Paladins.
- Furman is averaging 64.0 points per game entering Thursday night's contest, while giving up 61.2 points per game.
- Furman is led by Tierra Hodges, averaging 17.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. Tate Walters scores 13.5 points per game for Furman.
- Samford's Andrea Cournoyer comes into Thursday night's game leading the SoCon in scoring at 17.6 points per game while also leading in both steals (2.8) per game and in free throw percentage (.866).
- Samford has a record of 4-9 in road games so far this season. The Bulldogs have won four of their last six road games, including a 77-67 win in the team's most recent trip to Chattanooga on Feb. 5.
- The Bulldogs are 7-0 when scoring 75 or more points in a game so far this season. The 90 points scored against Furman are the most Samford has ever scored in a SoCon game.
- Samford is averaging 65.6 points per game to rank second in the SoCon. The Bulldogs are giving up an average of 68.2 points per game so far this season.
- Entering Thursday night's game, Samford has won four contests in a row and is averaging 71.8 points per game in that four-game stretch.
- Since joining the Southern Conference in 2008, Samford has posted a record of 138-88 in league games. Against the current members of the SoCon, Samford has an all-time record of 122-86. - Sanaa Redmond enters the week ranking fourth in the SoCon in assists at 2.9 per game. The freshman from Philadelphia, Pa., had a career-high nine assists in the Bulldogs' win over Montevallo.
- The Bulldogs are shooting 42.4 percent from the floor to rank first in the SoCon. Samford has made 609-of-1436 attempts so far this season. Sussy Ngulefac leads the way shooting 62.8 percent.
- Shauntai Battle is averaging 7.8 points per game to rank 25th in the SoCon. She is also seventh in 3-point FG made per game (1.6) as well.
- Preseason All-SoCon selection and junior forward Annie Ramil has been a force on the boards, averaging 7.4 rebounds per game, ranking fourth in the league. She grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds in Samford's win over ETSU.
- Mallory Hampton is off to a good start this season, ranking 12th in the SoCon in assists per game (2.3).
- As a team, Samford has done a good job of defending the three-point shot so far this season. The Bulldogs have limited their opponents to just 30.8 percent from beyond the arc, ranking third in the Southern Conference.
- In two-plus seasons under head coach Carley Kuhns, Samford is 28-10 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs won a share of the SoCon regular season title in her first season with a 10-4 mark in conference play. Last season, she led the Bulldogs to an 11-2 record in Southern Conference record, winning the program's first outright SoCon regular season championship. So far this season, Samford is 7-4 in league contests.
