BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University baseball team (6-2, 0-0 SoCon) will travel to Charleston, S.C., to take on the Charleson Southern Bucs (6-4, 0-0 Big South) in a three-game non-conference series this weekend. The teams are set to play Friday at 4 p.m. (CT), Saturday at 12:30 p.m. (CT) and Sunday at 12 p.m. (CT).
- Samford is set to start right-handed pitcher Jacob Cravey (0-1, 7.04 ERA) on Friday, left-handed pitcher Blake Bortak (0-1, 4.32 ERA) on Saturday and right-hander Jalon Long (1-0, 0.96 ERA) on Sunday.
- Charleston Southern will pitch right-handed pitcher Jerry Couch (1-1, 10.57 ERA), left-hander Kaleb Hill (1-0, 9.00 ERA) and right-hander Evan Truitt (1-1, 2.16 ERA).
- Samford enters the weekend with a mark of 6-2. The Bulldogs are coming off a dramatic 6-5 win over Alabama State Wednesday evening at Joe Lee Griffin Field.
- Charleston Southern is currently 6-4 on the young season. The Bucs are coming off a 9-3 win over Villanova Wednesday evening.
