Women’s Golf Wins Third-Place Match At Oyster Shuck Match Play

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Samford women's golf team won the third-place match at Oyster Shuck Match Play, defeating Appalachian State, 3.0-2.0, Tuesday morning.

Mary Kate Horton defeated Meghan Mitchell, 6&5. Christian Williams earned a 2&1 win over Layla Meric, while Sophie Membrino defeated Hannah Wang, 2UP. In the first two rounds Monday, Samford defeated The Citadel before falling in the semifinals to Austin Peay.

Samford will play an exhibition match against Dartmouth on March 17. The Bulldogs will compete in the Chattanooga Classic, March 27-29.
