Samford Women’s Basketball Opens Team Practice

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team held its first official team practice of the 2022-23 season at the Pete Hanna Center on Wednesday.

Samford enters the 2022-23 season looking for the third SoCon Regular Season title in four years under head coach Carley Kuhns.

"I am really excited about this group. I really love being around them," Kuhns said. "To me, right now, that is the most important part."

The Bulldog roster includes a solid mix of newcomers and returners led by All-SoCon First Team selection Andrea Cournoyer and reigning Co-Freshman of the Year Sussy Ngulefac.

"We have a great group of returners, obviously we have a really talented player in Ace (Cournoyer) returning, which is a blessing," Kuhns said. "There are two valuable freshmen that played a ton of minutes, so I don't consider them underclassmen. They are veterans in this program, and they know it. I am really excited about that core returning."

Samford opens the campaign against Troy at home on Monday, Nov. 7. Tipoff is slated for 12 p.m. CT.
