TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Samford men's and women's cross-country teams competed in the Crimson Classic, hosted by the University of Alabama Friday morning at the Harry Pritchett Running Course.
The Samford women's team placed eighth out of 24 teams in its 6K race, with five of the seven teams ahead of the Bulldogs coming from Power 5 conferences, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Kentucky and Mississippi State. The Bulldogs, who tallied 221 points, finished ahead of Power 5 foes Tennessee, Miami, Georgia and Florida State. The men's team placed 16
th in the 21-team field with 427 points in the 8K race.
Graduate transfer
Adeline Haisch led the women's team, placing 22
nd out of 217 runners, with a time of 20:48.8.
Sinkenesh Parker came in 27
th, running the course in 20:57.0, while
Gabbie Hoots finished 47
th with a time of 21:10.1.
On the men's side,
Andrew McGinnis came in 77
th out of 211 runners with a time of 25:20.0.
William Jordan placed 80
th, running the race in 25:23.9.
Samford will next compete in the Southern Conference Championship on Oct. 27 in Greensboro, N.C.
