BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Samford Athletics Department held its fifth-annual Athletics Giving Day on Wednesday.
A total of 313 people gave to Samford Athletics during the day, up from 300 last year. Those 313 donors gave a total $121,867 to Samford's 17 athletic teams.
The Samford track and field program had the most donors and raised the most money on the day. Women's basketball and women's tennis ranked second and third in number of donors, while men's tennis and men's golf were second and third in number of dollars raised.
Thirty-one percent of all donors were Samford University alumni. Alabama was the state where the majority of donors came from with 156, followed by Florida with 31 and Georgia with 30.
