GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. JACKSONVILLE STATE (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. --The Samford women's basketball team will remain at home to play host to in-state rival Jacksonville State on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 1 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.

The Bulldogs and Gamecocks are meeting for the 36th time, with Samford holding an 18-17 series lead. The teams met last season, with the Gamecocks taking a 75-59 win in Jacksonville.

The Bulldogs come into this game with a record of 5-2. The team earned a 57-52 win over USC Upstate Thursday night. Samford enters Sunday's game with a record of 4-0 in the Pete Hanna Center.

Masyn Marchbanks leads the team in scoring, averaging 11.9 points per game. Redshirt sophomore
Carly Heidger is averaging 10.0 points per game entering Sunday's game. Graduate transfer
Lexie Pritchard is scoring 9.1 points per game. Pritchard is also dishing out a team-high 4.7 assists per contest. Graduate transfer
Sadie Stetson is averaging 6.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Stetson also leads the team in steals, averaging 2.6 steals per game.

Entering this week, Samford leads the Southern Conference in blocked shots (4.1 pg.). Individually,
Emily Bowman leads the SoCon in blocked shots (2.7 pg.). Pritchard ranks second in the league in both assists (4.7 pg.) and assist-turnover ratio (1.7), while Stetson ranks second in steals (2.6 pg.).

Jacksonville State enters Sunday's game with a record of 3-4 on the young season. The Gamecocks earned a 74-53 win at Alabama State Thursday evening.

Jacksonville State has been led so far this season by Kristol Ayson, averaging 10.6 points per game. Bre'Anna Rhodes is scoring 7.9 points per game, while Keiara Griffin is averaging 7.6 points and a team-high 4.9 rebounds per game.

Jacksonville State is tied with Wofford for Samford's second-most played opponent with 35 previous meetings. The only school Samford has played more than JSU is Chattanooga with 39 meetings. Samford and Jacksonville State were co-members of the Atlantic Sun Conference from 1997 to 2003 and the Ohio Valley Conference from 2003 to 2008.
