Women’s Golf Places Fifth At Huntsville.org Intercollegiate

OWENS CROSSROADS, Ala. – The Samford women's golf team finished fifth at the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate, hosted by Samford on Monday and Tuesday at the RTJ at Hampton Cove-Highlands Course (Par 72, 6,039 yards).
"Our ladies battled hard over these three rounds and I am proud of how they performed," Samford head coach Joe Davidson said. "With three tournaments left, we are headed in the right direction."
Samford finished with a three-round score of 899 (301-298-300) to place fifth in the 11-team field. Lipscomb won the event with a total score of 872 (296-286-290).
Samford was led by Bailey Dunstan and Kelley Topiwala, both tying for eighth out of 64 players. Dunstan fired rounds of 73, 74 and 73, while Topiwala had rounds of 73, 72 and 75 for identical scores of 220.
Christian Williams and Sophie Membrino both tied for 29th with scores of 230. Williams fired rounds of 78, 76 and 76, while Membrino turned in scores of 77, 76 and 77. Kate Joyner tied for 41st at 236 (78-82-76).
Anika Richards and Allison Dusek both played as individuals, with their scores not counting towards the team's total. Richards tied for 34th at 233 (81-77-75), while Dusek tied for 39th at 235 (75-79-81).
Samford will next play in The Low Country Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford, March 17-19, in Bluffton, S.C.
