BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University soccer team picked up a 3-0 win over VMI on Senior Day Thursday afternoon at Shauna Yelton Field.
With the win, Samford improved to 6-3-3 overall and 2-1-0 in Southern Conference play. VMI fell to 1-11-0 overall and 0-3-0 in league action. Prior to the game, Samford's 10 seniors,

Jennifer Seward,
Mary Raymond,
Alyssa Conarton and
Kylie Gazza, were honored in Senior Day ceremonies.
For Samford in the game, Reynolds,
Whitaker Buchanan and Brown scored a goal each. Yount and
Layton Glisson contributed an assist apiece to the win.
As a team, Samford had 30 shots to just three for VMI. The Bulldogs had 15 shots on goal to none for the Keydets. The Bulldogs tallied 10 corner kicks to none for VMI.
Reynolds got the scoring started with her goal off an assist from Yount in the 11
th minute of the contest. Buchanan scored off an assist from Glisson in the 39
th minute. The final goal of the game came from Brown in the 60
th minute.
Samford will play at UNC Greensboro on Sunday, Oct. 1. The game is set for a 12 p.m. (CT) start from Greensboro, N.C.
