BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Head Coach Tony David of the Samford Baseball team announced on Thursday a scrimmage contest on Nov. 5 at 1:00 p.m. CT between the Bulldogs and the Tennessee Volunteers at First Horizon Park in Nashville, Tenn.
 
"This is another great opportunity for our guys to go up against one of the best teams and programs in the country," David said. "We want to use these fall opportunities to challenge our guys as much as possible. Knowing we will finish our fall against a team of their caliber is an outstanding extra incentive and motivation as we go through the grind of the fall workouts in preparation for the spring. Ultimately, that is what it is about."
 
It will be the second consecutive fall that the Bulldogs travel to the Music City to take on an SEC opponent. Samford played in a scrimmage contest at Vanderbilt University on Oct. 23 in the fall of 2022.
 
"This game is another step in the process of us being the best team we can be at the start of February and then continuing to improve and develop from there," Coach David said. "Coach Vitello and his staff do an incredible job with the way the program has exploded in such a short period of time."
 
The scrimmage will be hosted by the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers. Ticketing information for the scrimmage can be found at the following link.
 
"I think we are all excited about playing at The Sound's incredible pro stadium in front of what we expect to be a really large crowd," Coach David said. "Coming off last season where we felt like we were good enough as a group to get out of the Auburn Regional that would have given us a Super Regional matchup with Tennessee, it is neat to have the opportunity to match up with those guys. Even though this is obviously only a fall scrimmage with two different rosters."
