GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. UNC GREENSBORO (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will wrap up its homestand by playing host to the UNC Greensboro Spartans Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
The Bulldogs and Spartans have met 33 previous times, with Samford holding a 26-7 series lead. Last season, Samford won both meetings, earning a 76-66 win at home and a 75-68 win on the road.
 
The Bulldogs come into this game with a record of 9-9 overall and 2-2 in SoCon play. The team earned a 48-47 win over Western Carolina Thursday night.
 
 So far this season, sophomore 
Carly Heidger leads the team in scoring, averaging 10.7 points per game. Sophomore 
Masyn Marchbanks averages 9.4 points per game. Graduate transfer 
Sadie Stetson is averaging 8.3 points per game. She also leads the squad in steals, claiming 30 so far this season. 
Emily Bowman averages 7.4 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game. She leads the SoCon and ranks 12th in the nation in blocked shots per game, averaging 2.67 per contest. Graduate transfer 
Lexie Pritchard averages 7.2 points per game. She also leads the team in assists, dishing out 3.4 per game.
 
Entering this game, Samford leads the Southern Conference in blocked shots, averaging 4.22 per game. Individually, in addition to leading the lead in blocks, Bowman ranks third in the SoCon in rebounding (8.2). 
Lexie Pritchard ranks second in the league in assist-turnover ratio (1.3) and ranks fifth in assists per game (3.4), while 
Sadie Stetson ranks third in steals per game (1.7 pg.).
 
UNC Greensboro comes into Saturday's game with a mark of 13-5 overall and 2-1 in Southern Conference play. The Spartans played at Mercer Thursday evening, falling by a score of 76-52.
 
UNC Greensboro has been led so far this season by Jayde Gamble, averaging 12.9 points per game. Isys Grady currently averages 9.7 points per game for the Spartans. Ayanna Khalfani leads UNC Greensboro in assists, dishing out 3.5 assists per game. Khalis Cain is the Spartans' leading rebounder, grabbing 8.1 boards per game.
