BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Athletics Department recently hosted the CHAMPS Employer Showcase on Tuesday, October 22
nd in the Regions Community Room in Cooney Hall from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. We had 62 student-athletes attend this event.
JeNorri Armstead kicked off the night with the welcome and described how the night would go followed by Dora Ditchfield (Director of the Career Development Center) who shared how they can be a resource for students.
Each representative had about three minutes to provide a brief overview of their company. After the presentations, the floor was opened for the student-athletes to network with the representatives.
The purpose of the evening was three-fold for our student-athletes…
- Connect the student-athletes with potential employers and/or internships.
- Give them the opportunity to learn about different companies and industries that they may not have considered before.
- Give them an opportunity to engage and get more comfortable with professionals from various companies.
