GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. MONTEVALLO (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford women's basketball team will play host to the Montevallo Falcons in an Education Day game Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford and Montevallo are meeting for just the third time in the regular season, with Samford owning a 3-0 series lead. Most recently Samford earned a 75-50 win in the 2021-22 season.
The Samford women's basketball team currently has a record of 1-4. The Bulldogs opened the 2024-25 season with four tough road games at Tennessee, Central Arkansas, Memphis and Florida State, before playing their home opener in a 112-61 win over Fisk.

Emily Bowman currently leads the team in both scoring (13.2 ppg.) and rebounding (10.2 rpg.), posting three double-doubles through the first five games of the season. Freshman
Claire Johnson is averaging 11.4 points per game, scoring a career-high 18 points in Sunday's home-opening win over Fisk.
Annie Ramil is averaging 8.8 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. She posted a double-double at Memphis with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Samford sophomore
Kennedy Langham is currently averaging 8.8 points per game for the Bulldogs.
Samford scored 112 points in Sunday's 112-61 win over Fisk. The performance marked the first time Samford scored 100 points or more since scoring 112 points against Birmingham-Southern on Dec. 30, 2022.
The Montevallo Falcons enter the week with a record of 1-2. The Falcons opened the season with losses to Nova Southeastern (72-50) and Embry-Riddle (83-61), and most recently earned a 52-51 win at Shorter.
Montevallo has been led so far this season by Lia Edwards, averaging 11.0 points per game. Isabel Grimes is averaging 10.0 points per game for the Falcons.
