GAME NOTES---SAMFORD VS. MEMPHIS (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford women's basketball team will continue its season-opening road swing with a game at Memphis Sunday at 2 p.m. at Elma Roane Fieldhouse.
The Bulldogs and Tigers are playing for the sixth time, with Samford holding a 3-2 series lead. The last meeting came on Dec. 9, 2018, with the Tigers taking a 53-48 win over the Bulldogs.
The Samford women's basketball team opened the 2024-25 season with a 101-53 setback at national power Tennessee and then followed that up with a 63-44 setback at Central Arkansas on Friday.
Samford sophomore guard
Kennedy Langham is currently leading the team in scoring, averaging 10.0 points per game through the first two games of the season.
Emily Bowman is averaging nearly a double-double so far, scoring 9.0 points and grabbing 10.5 boards per contest entering this game.
Annie Ramil is averaging 9.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, ranking second on the squad in both categories so far. Samford freshman
Claire Johnson has gotten her college career off to a hot start. She is averaging 9.0 points per game through her first two college games.
The Memphis Tigers enter Sunday's game with a mark of 1-1. The Tigers opened the season with an 89-78 win over Mississippi Valley State and then fell to Mississippi State by a score of 100-56.
Memphis has been led so far this season by Tilly Boler, averaging 17.0 points per game. Hannah Riddick is averaging a double-double for the Tigers, scoring 14.5 points and grabbing 11.0 rebounds per game.
