GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. FAMU (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will return home to take on the Florida A&M Rattlers Friday evening at 6 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
Samford and FAMU are meeting for the first time ever in women's basketball.
The Samford women's basketball team enters the game with a record of 4-9 after a 103-64 loss at 12th-ranked TCU Tuesday evening. Samford has a record of 3-1 in home games so far this season.
Samford junior center Emily Bowman ranks fifth in the Southern Conference in scoring (12.4 ppg.) and she leads the league in rebounding (9.9 rpg.) and blocked shots (2.5 bpg.). She has posted six double-doubles so far this season.
Sophomore guard Kennedy Langham is second on the squad in scoring, averaging 10.5 points per game. Sadie Stetson is third on the squad in scoring, averaging 9.8 points per game so far this season. Samford freshman Claire Johnson is scoring 8.3 points per game, having scored in double figures in five games so far in her first collegiate season. Graduate forward Annie Ramil is currently averaging 6.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
The Florida A&M Rattlers enter Friday night's contest with a record of 1-8. FAMU is coming off an 85-57 win over North Florida on Dec. 7.
Florida A&M has been led so far this season by Cheyenne McEvans, averaging 14.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Sydney Hendrix is scoring 12.2 points per game and grabbing a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game.
