GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. MILES (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will return home to play host to the Miles College Golden Bears Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
Samford and Miles are meeting for just the second time in women's basketball. The only previous meeting came on Nov. 20, 2022, with Samford earning a 77-52 win in the Pete Hanna Center.
The Samford women's basketball team enters the weekend with a record of 3-8 after a 67-61 overtime win at North Alabama Thursday evening.
Samford junior center Emily Bowman ranks fifth in the Southern Conference in scoring (12.9 ppg.) and she leads the league in rebounding (10.2 rpg.), posting six double-doubles through the first 11 games of the season. At North Alabama, she set school records for rebounds (21) and blocked shots (8) to go along with her 15 points.
Sophomore guard Kennedy Langham is second on the squad in scoring, averaging 10.7 points per game. Sadie Stetson is third on the squad in scoring, averaging 9.1 points per game so far this season.
Samford freshman Claire Johnson is scoring 8.9 points per game, having scored in double figures in four of her first 11 collegiate games. Graduate forward Annie Ramil is currently averaging 6.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
The Miles College Golden Bears enter Sunday's game with a record of 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) following a 58-47 win over Fort Valley State on Monday.
Miles has been led so far this season by Feliah Greer, averaging 11.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. Tederia Ashley is averaging 8.2 points and a team-high 6.6 boards per contest.
