GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT UNCG (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will go back on the road to take on the UNC Greensboro Spartans Thursday evening at 6 p.m. (CT) at Fleming Gymnasium.
 
The Bulldogs and Spartans have met 34 previous times, with Samford owning a 27-7 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, with Samford earning a 62-53 home court win.
 
The Bulldogs come into this game with a record of 11-13 overall and 3-6 in SoCon play. The team dropped a 69-56 decision to ETSU last Saturday.
 
 So far this season, Carly Heidger leads the team in scoring, averaging 9.8 points per game. Sadie Stetson is averaging 7.9 points per game. She also leads the squad in steals, averaging 1.7 steals per game. Freshman Kennedy Langham averages 7.6 points per game. Masyn Marchbanks averages 9.0 points per game. Lexie Pritchard averages 6.1 points per game. She also leads the team in assists, dishing out 3.0 per game. Emily Bowman averages 7.6 points and a team-high 8.0 rebounds per game. She leads the SoCon and ranks 14th in the nation in blocked shots per game, averaging 2.58 per contest.
 
Entering this game, Samford ranks second in the Southern Conference in blocked shots, averaging 4.04 per game. Individually, in addition to leading the lead in blocks, Bowman ranks fourth in the SoCon in rebounding (8.0). Pritchard ranks second in the league in assist-turnover ratio (1.3) and ranks fifth in assists per game (3.0), while Stetson ranks fourth in steals per game (1.7).
 
The UNC Greensboro Spartans come into Thursday night's game with a mark of 15-9 overall and 4-5 in Southern Conference play. The Spartans most recently played at Wofford last Saturday, falling to the Terriers by a score of 66-60.
 
UNC Greensboro has been led so far this season by Jayde Gamble, averaging 13.3 points per game. Ayanna Khalfani is currently averaging 10.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Khalis Cain leads the Spartans in rebounding, grabbing 8.1 boards per contest.
