GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT WESTERN CAROLINA (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will wrap up its current road swing with a game at Western Carolina Saturday evening at 6 p.m. (CT) at the Ramsey Center.
 
The Bulldogs and Catamounts have met 34 previous times, with Samford owning a 30-4 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, with Samford earning a 48-47 win in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
The Bulldogs come into this game with a record of 11-14 overall and 3-7 in SoCon play. The team dropped a 52-44 decision at UNC Greensboro Thursday night.
 
 So far this season, Carly Heidger leads the team in scoring, averaging 9.8 points per game. Sadie Stetson is averaging 8.0 points per game. She also leads the squad in steals, averaging 1.6 steals per game. Freshman Kennedy Langham averages 7.5 points per game. Masyn Marchbanks averages 9.2 points per game. Lexie Pritchard averages 5.8 points per game. She also leads the team in assists, dishing out 2.9 per game. Emily Bowman averages 7.5 points and a team-high 8.1 rebounds per game. She leads the SoCon and ranks 14th in the nation in blocked shots per game, averaging 2.52 per contest.
 
The Western Carolina Catamounts come into Saturday night's game with a record of 6-19 overall and 1-9 in Southern Conference play. The Catamounts most recently took on Mercer Thursday night, falling to the Bears by a score of 76-62.
 
Western Carolina has been led so far this season by Chelsea Wooten, averaging 10.9 points per game. Lonasia Brewer averages 8.5 points and a team-high 5.7 rebounds per game. Zanoria Crux currently averages 8.0 points per game for the Catamounts. Jada Burton is Western Carolina's leader in assists, dishing out 4.0 assists per game.
