Dabney Tabbed as SoCon Indoor Women’s Track Athlete Of The Week Honor

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford's Amiel Dabney was named the Southern Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week when the league released its weekly track and field honors on Wednesday afternoon.

Selections were made by panels of the league's track and field coaches and included all competitions from Jan. 31-Feb. 6.

Competing in the South Alabama Invitational, Dabney won the women's 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.62 and finished fifth in the 60-meter after running a 7.67. Dabney currently ranks first in the SoCon for the 60-meter hurdle and third in the 60-meter dash.

Samford returns to action on Feb. 9 at the Bulldog Invitational at the Birmingham Sportsplex and the Vanderbilt-hosted Vandy Open in Nashville.
