GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. ETSU (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will conclude its current three-game homestand by playing host to the ETSU Bucs Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
The Bulldogs and Bucs have met 22 previous times, with the series tied at 11-11. The teams played earlier this season, with ETSU taking a 57-40 win in Johnson City.
 
The Bulldogs come into this game with a record of 11-12 overall and 3-5 in SoCon play. The team dropped 55-39 decision to Chattanooga Thursday evening.
 
So far this season, Carly Heidger leads Samford in scoring, averaging 9.7 points per game. Sadie Stetson is averaging 8.3 points per game. She also leads the squad in steals, claiming 39 so far this season. Freshman Kennedy Langham averages 7.7 points per game, while Masyn Marchbanks averages 8.5 points per game. Lexie Pritchard averages 6.3 points per game. She also leads the team in assists, dishing out 3.0 per game. Emily Bowman averages 7.5 points and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game. She leads the SoCon and ranks 12th in the nation in blocked shots per game, averaging 2.70 per contest.
 
Entering this game, Samford ranks second in the Southern Conference in blocked shots, averaging 4.17 per game. Individually, in addition to leading the lead in blocks, Bowman ranks third in the SoCon in rebounding (8.3). Pritchard ranks second in the league in assist-turnover ratio (1.3) and ranks fifth in assists per game (3.0), while Stetson ranks fourth in steals per game (1.7).
 
ETSU comes into Saturday's game with a mark of 15-8 overall and 4-4 in Southern Conference play. The Bucs most recently played at Mercer Thursday evening, falling by a score of 65-57.
 
ETSU has been led so far this season by Nevaeh Brown, averaging 13.8 points per game. Kendall Folley averages 9.1 points per game so far this season for the Bucs. Courtney Moore is currently averaging 8.3 points per contest.
