GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT MERCER (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will wrap up its regular season with a game at Mercer Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT). The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
 
The Bulldogs and Bears have met 34 previous times, with Mercer owning a 25-9 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, with Mercer earning an 87-59 win in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
The Bulldogs come into this game with a record of 14-14 overall and 6-7 in SoCon play. The team earned a 74-66 win over Furman on Saturday afternoon.
 
 So far this season, Carly Heidger leads the team in scoring, averaging 9.9 points per game. Sadie Stetson is averaging 8.7 points per game. She also leads the squad in steals, averaging 1.5 steals per game. Freshman Kennedy Langham averages 8.2 points per game. Masyn Marchbanks averages 8.8 points per game. Lexie Pritchard averages 5.9 points per game. She also leads the team in assists, dishing out 2.9 per game.
 
Emily Bowman averages 8.1 points and a team-high 8.5 rebounds per game. She leads the SoCon and ranks 15th in the nation in blocked shots per game, averaging 2.6 per contest. She currently holds the school single-season records for blocked shots (72) and rebounds (239). She had a school-record 19 rebounds and seven blocks last Saturday against Furman.
 
Samford ranks second in the Southern Conference in blocked shots, averaging 3.93 per game. Individually, in addition to leading the league in blocks, Bowman ranks second in the SoCon in rebounding (8.5). Pritchard ranks fifth in the league assists per game (2.9), while Stetson ranks fifth in steals per game (1.5).
 
The Mercer Bears come into Saturday's game with a record of 13-16 overall and 7-6 in Southern Conference play. The Bears most recently played host to Wofford last Saturday, earning a 79-74 win over the Terriers.
 
Mercer has been led so far this season by Summah Evans, averaging 13.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Stacie Jones is currently averaging 11.1 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Briana Peguero averages 10.3 points per game for the Bears.
