Wednesday's contest will double as Samford's "A League Of Their OwnNight. The first 30 Samford fans in attendance will receive a special edition League Of Their Own Samford hat.

Winners of three-straight Southern Conference series, Samford enters the midweek contest with a record of 16-27 on the year after taking two of three from the ETSU Buccaneers on the road.

Mississippi State brings a 30-13 record to Birmingham after a bye weekend.

Samford and Mississippi State have met 25 previous times with the Bulldogs from Starkville leading the all-time series 23-2. The Two Bulldog squads have already met once this season with Mississippi State run-ruling Samford 11-1 on March 3 to conclude the Bulldog Invitational.

Offensively, the Bulldogs are paced at the top of the lineup by the junior duo of McKayla Cothran and Sarah Squillace. Cothran leads Samford in batting average at .352, while Squillace is slashing .303.

The heart of the order features one of the best young hitters in the conference as Katie Campbell leads the team with 11 home runs and 41 RBIs. Logan Champion ranks second on the squad with five homers and 24 RBIs while holding the team lead with a trio of triples.

On the national stage, Campbell ranks top 100 nationally in hit by-pitches (8/90th), home runs (11/73rd), home runs per game (0.26/86th), RBIs (41/61st) and RBIs per game (0.98/65th).

In the circle, Jordyn Partain has been the workhorse of the Bulldog pitching staff tossing 120.1 innings, which ranks third among SoCon pitchers. The junior's 31 games started are the 29th most by any starting pitcher in the country. Partain has also a SoCon-best 13 complete games, which ranks 43rd nationally.
