SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford's Katie Keller was named the Southern Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week when the league released its weekly track and field honors on Wednesday afternoon. 
  
Selections were made by panels of the league's track and field coaches and included all outdoor competitions to date.
  
Competing at the Maroon and White Invitational hosted by Mississippi State, Keller placed third in the 800-meter, logging a time of 2:07.26. The senior set a new personal best in the event and currently ranks first in the conference.
  
Samford will return to action and host the 2024 SoCon Outdoor Track & Field Championships starting May 6 at Shauna Yelton Field at The Samford Track and Soccer Stadium.
