GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. AUBURN (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford soccer team will return home to play host to the 13th-ranked Auburn Tigers Thursday evening at 6 p.m., and then will host Ole Miss Sunday at 1 p.m., both at Shauna Yelton Field.
Samford and Auburn will be meeting for the 20th time, with Auburn holding a 12-3-4 series lead. The teams met last season, playing to a 0-0 draw in Auburn. Samford and Ole Miss have played five previous times, with the Rebels holding a 2-0-3 series lead. The teams played to a 0-0 tie last season in Oxford.
Samford has an all-time record of 12-38-13 against the current members of the SEC. This are the first two of three games against SEC opponents on Samford's schedule with an upcoming games at Georgia on Sept. 12.
Samford enters the week with a record of 2-2-1. The Bulldogs have earned wins over Tennessee Tech (3-1) and Troy (4-0), lost to Notre Dame (6-0) and Army (1-2) and tied UAB (3-3).
For Samford so far this season, the Bulldogs have been led by
Fleming Dean and
Layton Glisson with two goals apiece.
Brooklyn Miller has tallied a goal and three assists so far this season. Additionally,
Ella Simpson has one goal and one assist, while
Caroline Donovan,
Hanna Rae Himes,
Anna Major,
Anna Martin and
Alexa Minestrella have one goal apiece.

Mia Krusinski has played 225 minutes with a 1.60 GAA, while
Peyton Hull has played 213 minutes with a 3.38 GAA.
Auburn enters Thursday night's contest with a mark of 5-0. The Tigers have earned wins over Clemson (4-0), Southern Miss (6-0), Coastal Carolina (3-0), South Alabama (6-0) and Appalachian State (3-0).
Auburn has been led so far this season by Anna Haddock with three goals and four assists for a total of 10 points. Auburn goalkeeper Maddie Prohaska has started all five games and played 428 minutes without allowing a goal.
Ole Miss comes into the week with a mark of 3-2 on the young season. The Rebels have wins over Southern (4-0), Georgia State (2-0) and McNeese State (3-0), while losing to Memphis (2-1) and Michigan State (1-0),
Ole Miss has been led by Kayle Keefer with three goals and one assist for a total of seven points. Shu Ohba and Taylor Prigge have split time in goal for the Rebels.
