GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. WOFFORD (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will remain at home to play host to the SoCon-leading Wofford Terriers Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford and Wofford have met 38 previous times, with Samford owning a 26-12 series lead. The teams played three times last season. The teams split the regular-season meetings, with each team winning at home. Wofford then won the meeting in the SoCon Tournament.
The Samford women's basketball team is currently 6-14 overall and 1-3 in Southern Conference play after a 77-62 win over Furman Thursday evening.
Sophomore guard
Kennedy Langham has had 14 double-digit scoring games so far this season. She had a season-high 22 points and tied a career high with nine rebounds at Chattanooga. Samford freshman
Claire Johnson is third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.0 points per game, having scored in double figures in nine games so far in her first collegiate season.
Graduate forward
Annie Ramil is currently averaging 8.0 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Samford redshirt freshman
Aubrey Blankenship has stepped into the starting for the last five games. She has scored in double figures in three of those games, tallying 13 points against Berry, 10 points at Chattanooga and 15 points against Furman.
Sadie Stetson is currently averaging 8.0 points per game so far this season.
The Wofford Terriers enter Saturday afternoon's game with a record of 12-5 overall and 4-0 in Southern Conference play. Wofford most recently played at Mercer Thursday night, winning, 61-51.
Preseason SoCon Player of the Year Rachael Rose is averaging a team-high 12.5 points per game but has not played since Jan. 2. Helen Matthews is averaging 11.3 points per game for the Terriers. Evangelia Paulk is averaging 10.6 points and a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game so far this season. Maddie Heiss is scoring 10.3 points per game for the Terriers, while Molly Masingale is averaging 10.1 points per game.
