GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT UNC GREENSBORO (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Greensboro, N.C., to take on the UNC Greensboro Spartans Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT) at Fleming Gymnasium.

Samford and UNC Greensboro have met 35 previous times, with Samford holding a 27-8 series lead. Last season, the teams split the season series, with Samford earning a 62-53 win at home and UNCG taking a 52-44 win in Greensboro.
 
The Samford women's basketball team is currently 7-15 overall and 2-4 in Southern Conference play after a 90-86 double overtime win at Western Carolina Thursday.

Samford redshirt junior Emily Bowman is leading the team in scoring (11.4 ppg.), rebounding (9.2 rpg.) and blocked shots (2.1). Sophomore guard Kennedy Langham has had 15 double-digit scoring games so far this season and is averaging 11.2 points per game.
 
Samford freshman Claire Johnson is third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.6 points per game. She scored a career-high 26 points at Western Carolina. Graduate forward Annie Ramil is currently averaging 7.8 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. Sadie Stetson is currently averaging 7.8 points per game so far this season.
 
Aubrey Blankenship and Alonya Waldon have stepped into the starting lineup recently, Waldon is averaging 6.2 points and Blankenship is averaging 5.1 points per contest.
 
The UNC Greensboro Spartans enter Saturday's game with a record of 14-6 overall and 5-1 in Southern Conference play. UNCG earned a 70-37 win over Mercer Thursday evening.
 
The Spartans have been led so far this season by Jayde Gamble, averaging 12.3 points per game. Jaila Lee is currently averaging 10.9 points per game, while Nya Smith is averaging 10.7 points per game.
