TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Samford women's basketball team have a strong first half but fall to the crimson tide in a road game, 46 to 84, Wednesday evening at the Coleman Coliseum.
NOTABLES
Senior guard
Sierra Godbolt was the leading scorer for the Bulldogs with 13 points. She scored nine out of 13 of the Bulldogs points in the first quarter. Godbolt also led the team in assists with three.
Carla Baguda led the team in rebounds with seven and in blocks with three coming off the bench.
Aubrey Blankenship was the team's second leading scorer with eight points.
Freshmen's
Sydney Martin and
Kaylee Yarbrough notched six and five points in their fifth collegiate contest.
The Bulldog bench had a total of 19 points.
Q1
Godbolt scored the first seven of the Bulldogs points in the first.
Jada Knight would score the final bucket of the quarter to put the Bulldogs up by one, 13 to 12.
Q2
The Crimson Tide were the first to score in the second quarter and going on a 19-point run before the Bulldogs would score again with a three pointer from
Briana Rivera. Bulldogs would go on a 14-point run to pull themselves within five at the half.
Q3
After the half, Bulldogs would only score seven points. The Crimson Tide would score 31 points in the quarter stretching their lead to 64-34.
Q4
Sydney Martin scored her second three of the game in the fourth quarter.
UP NEXT
Bulldogs will play their second home game of the season on Friday November 21
st against Stillman College. The game is scheduled for 6 p.m. tip from the Pete Hanna Center.
