BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford women's basketball team will play its home opener for the 2025-26 season against the Montevallo Eagles on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Pete Hanna Center. This game will also be their annual Education Day.
Samford and Montevallo are meeting for the fourth time. Last season the Bulldogs beat the Eagles on Education Day, 87-71.
This is Samford's first game of the season. After this game, Samford will play the next four games on the road.
The Montevallo Eagles enter this game coming off an exhibition win against Huntingdon College, 77-53. After playing at Samford on Monday, Montevallo will play at Embry-Riddle on Friday, Nov. 14

Emily Snoddy enters the season on the Southern Conference's preseason all-Southern Conference Team. Last season, Snoddy averaged 9.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game last season. She posted six double-doubles on the season and grabbed a school-record 21 rebounds against North Alabama.
Monday morning's game is set for a 11 a.m. tip off from the Pete Hanna Center featuring schools from across Birmingham in attendance. The game can be seen live on ESPN+, and live stats will also be available.
