BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will head to Lincoln, Neb. To play the Nebraska Huskers on Saturday evening at 5 p.m.
The Bulldogs and Huskers are meeting for the second time ever in women's basketball.
The Bulldogs are coming off their first game of the season against Montevallo Eagles which they won 75-53.
Newcomer
Briana Rivera lead the Bulldogs in the first game with 18 points and four rebounds. Returner
Aubrey Blankenship was the second scoring leader for the game with 13 points, five rebounds and four assists.
Emily Snoddy (Bowman) lead in rebound with 11 and two blocks.
Ten bulldogs scored in the game as well featuring five of the newcomers to the team.
Nebraska has already played one game and two exhibitions this season. They most recently defeated Northwestern State 103 to 46. Last season the Huskers posted a 21-12 record and were 10-8 in the Big Ten. Callin Hake is the only active Husker who played in the first meeting with Samford.
The game will be broadcast live on the Big Ten+. Live stats will also be available to follow the game.
This is the Bulldogs first game of four this season against Power 4 teams. They will play Florida, Alabama and Mississippi State later in the season.
