GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. CHATTANOOGA (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will play host to the Chattanooga Mocs Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford and Chattanooga have met 42 previous times, with the Mocs holding a 31-11 series lead. Earlier this season the teams met in Chattanooga, with the Mocs coming from behind to earn a 69-63 win.
The Samford women's basketball team is currently 9-16 overall and 4-5 in Southern Conference play after a 50-43 win over ETSU Thursday night. The Bulldogs have won three of their last four games.
Samford redshirt junior
Emily Bowman is currently averaging 11.2 points and a team-high 8.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard
Kennedy Langham has had 17 double-digit scoring games so far this season and is averaging a team-high 11.3 points per game.
Samford freshman
Claire Johnson is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game. She scored a career-high 30 points at UNC Greensboro , and she is currently third in the Southern Conference in three-point percentage at 40.8 percent. Graduate forward
Annie Ramil is currently averaging 7.2 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
Sadie Stetson is currently averaging 7.3 points per game so far this season.
Aubrey Blankenship and
Alonya Waldon have stepped into the starting lineup recently, Waldon is averaging 6.0 points and Blankenship is averaging 5.1 points per contest.
The Chattanooga Mocs enter Saturday's game with a record of 12-11 overall and 7-3 in Southern Conference play. The Mocs most recently earned a 69-39 win at Mercer Thursday evening.
Chattanooga has been led so far this season by Caia Elisaldez, averaging 13.4 points per game. Gianna Corbitt is averaging 9.9 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game. Karsen Murphy currently has an average of 8.5 points per game for the Mocs.
