GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT WOFFORD (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on the Wofford Terriers Thursday evening at 5 p.m. (CT) at Richardson Indoor Stadium.
Samford and Wofford have met 39 previous times, with Samford owning a 26-13 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, with Wofford taking an 84-49 win at Samford.
The Samford women's basketball team is currently 10-16 overall and 5-5 in Southern Conference play after a 55-50 win over Chattanooga on Saturday.
Samford redshirt junior
Emily Bowman is currently averaging 11.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game, both team highs. Sophomore guard
Kennedy Langham has had 18 double-digit scoring games so far this season, and is tied with Bowman, averaging 11.5 points per game.
Samford freshman
Claire Johnson is third on the team in scoring, averaging 10.8 points per game. She scored a career-high 30 points at UNC Greensboro, and she is currently fourth in the Southern Conference in three-point percentage at 39.6 percent.
Graduate forward
Annie Ramil is currently averaging 7.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
Sadie Stetson is currently averaging 7.2 points per game so far this season.
Aubrey Blankenship and
Alonya Waldon have stepped into the starting lineup recently. Waldon is averaging 6.0 points and Blankenship is averaging 5.0 points per contest.
The Wofford Terriers enter Thursday night's game with a mark of 15-8 overall and 7-3 in Southern Conference play. The Terriers dropped a 68-60 decision at UNC Greensboro last Saturday.
Wofford has been led so far this season by Evangelia Paulk, averaging 12.6 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Helen Matthews is currently averaging 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Molly Masingale is averaging 10.8 points per game for the Terriers.
