ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Samford freshman guard
Claire Johnson was named to the first team All-SoCon Tournament team at the conclusion of the Southern Conference Women's Basketball Tournament Sunday afternoon.
In Samford's quarterfinal game against Wofford, Johnson led the team with 19 points and seven rebounds. She made 7-of-13 shots from the floor, including 3-of-6 from three-point range in the game.
For the season, Johnson led Samford, averaging 12.2 points per game. She finished second in the Southern Conference in both three-pointers made per game at 2.0 and in three-point percentage at 40.4 percent.
