GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. UNCG (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University baseball team will play host to the UNC Greensboro Spartans in a SoCon series this weekend. The teams are set to play Friday at 4 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Samford and UNC Greensboro have met 52 previous times, with Samford holding a 32-20 series lead. Last season the teams met in Greensboro, with the Spartans winning two-of-three games.
Samford enters the week with a record of 24-23 overall and 9-6 in SoCon play. Last weekend, the Bulldogs split two games with Miami of Ohio. Wednesday evening, Samford dropped a 12-8 decision to 19th-ranked Troy.

Cameron Keshock on Saturday. Samford has not named a starter for Sunday's game yet.
Jeffrey Ince currently leads the team in hitting with a .328 (59-for-180) average with 15 doubles, nine home runs and 30 RBI.
Michael Gupton is hitting .325 (52-for-160) with eight doubles, 10 home runs and 36 RBI.
Cade Carr has a .322 (56-for-174) average with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 50 RBI.
Jake Souders is hitting .315 (58-for-184) with 10 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBI.
Jackson Harris is currently hitting .304 (52-for-171) with 12 doubles, four home runs and 35 RBI.
Parker McDonald currently leads the team in home runs with 11 and in slugging percentage at .604.
UNC Greensboro enters the weekend with a record of 19-27 overall and 8-7 in Southern Conference play. Last weekend, the Spartans lost two-of-three games to The Citadel.
UNC Greensboro has listed right-handed pitcher Sam Murchison as its starter for Friday's series opener. Left-handed pitcher Noah Chapman is scheduled to start Saturday and the Spartans have not named a starter for Sunday's game yet.
The Spartans have been led at the plate so far this season by Brantley Truitt, hitting .323 (41-for-127) with six doubles, three home runs and 17 RBI. Jeremy Wolf has a .312 (53-for-170) average with 16 doubles, three home runs and 21 RBI.
