BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will host the Mercer Bears on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, at the Pete Hanna Center.
This will be the 39th all-time meeting between Samford and Mercer, with the Bears leading the series 28-10. The teams have already met once this season, a 76-67 Mercer win on Jan. 17 in Macon, Ga. Samford enters the rematch at 10-16 overall and 3-6 in Southern Conference play, while Mercer stands at 15-9 overall and 5-4 in the SoCon.
The Bulldogs continue to lean into a high-volume perimeter attack and productive depth. Briana Rivera leads the nation in three-pointers made (85) and attempts (236), and sits second in the country at 3.327 made threes per game.
Carla Baguda & Emily Bowman anchor the interior defense; Baguda ranks 3rd in the SoCon in blocks (1.33 bpg) and Bowman ranks 5th.
Mercer brings a balanced profile into Birmingham with a 15-8 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the SoCon. The Bears own a NET ranking of 136 and average 65.5 points per game while allowing 62.6. They are 3-3 over their last six outings, including the Jan. 17 win over Samford.
Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
