SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Three Samford student-athletes were named SoCon Athletes of the Week when the league released its weekly track and field awards Wednesday afternoon.
Bradley Franklin was named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week,
Jaggerd Moore earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors and
Lindsey Havens was named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week.
At the Tiger Paw Invitational at Clemson, Franklin posted the fifth-fastest time in the nation and set a new school record in the men's 60-meter hurdles, running the race in 7.56 seconds.
At the Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Samford at the Birmingham CrossPlex, Havens won the women's pole vault, reaching a height of 3.97 meters.
Moore won the men's high jump at the Bulldog Invitational, leaping a height of 2.14 meters.
Next up, Samford will compete in the Southern Conference Indoor Championships on Feb. 27-28 in Lexington, Va.
