SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior golfer Gabi Nicastro was named the Southern Conference Golfer of the Week when the league released its weekly women's golf awards Wednesday afternoon.
 
Nicastro helped lead Samford in its match against UAB on Monday. Playing at the No. 3 position, she earned a 4 & 2 victory. The Bulldogs tied the Blazers, 3-3.
 
This marks the third time this spring a Samford player has been named Golfer of the Week. Nicastro earned the honor on Jan. 28, while Anika Richards won the award on Feb. 11.
 
Next up, Samford will host the huntsville.org Intercollegiate, March 2-3, in Huntsville, Ala.
