SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford senior
Anika Richards was named the Southern Conference Golfer of the Week when the league released its weekly women's golf awards Wednesday afternoon.
Richards posted a 3-0 record in the No. 1 spot in leading Samford to three wins at the Oyster Shuck Match Play tournament earlier this week in Charleston, S.C. She earned a 5 & 4 win over Iciar Canalejo of Winthrop, an 8 & 7 victory over Anais Arafi from High Point and a 2 & 1 win over Sofia Perez Escarcena from Youngstown State.
Next up, Samford will take on UAB in match play on Feb. 16.
