BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will host the ETSU Buccaneers on Feb. 28 in the Pete Hanna Center, this contest will also serve as Senior Day, the team's final regular-season home game.
Four seniors and graduates will be recognized at the game, Jada Knight, Alyssa Tarpley, Sierra Godbolt and Emily Snoddy.
This will be the 27th meeting between the programs, with ETSU holding a 14-12 edge in the all-time series. Samford owns an 8-4 advantage over the Buccaneers at home. The teams last met on Jan. 30, 2026, in Johnson City, where ETSU won a defensive battle, 53-44. ETSU has taken seven of the past 10 match ups.
Samford remains one of the nation's most prolific three-point shooting teams, ranking first in the SoCon and 17th nationally in three-point attempts per game (26.7), and first in the SoCon and 29th nationally in threes made per game (8.5). Guard Briana Rivera leads all of Division I in three-pointers made (98), attempts (268), and threes per game (3.38), placing her among the top single-season performers in program history. The Bulldogs also get major production from their bench, pacing the SoCon and ranking 81st nationally at 21.4 bench points per game.
ETSU enters at 16-12 overall and 9-4 in SoCon play, riding a three-game winning streak and victories in four of its last five. Guard Anala Nelson leads the offense with 10.2 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, while forward Meghan Downing controls the paint, leading the SoCon and ranking 20th nationally with 2.2 blocks per game.
Tip-off is set for Feb. 28 from the Pete Hanna Center at 2 p.m., the game will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be followed via Live Stats.
