GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT WEST GEORGIA (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University baseball team will travel to Carrollton, Ga., to take on the West Georgia Wolves Tuesday at 4 p.m. (CT).
Samford and West Georgia have met 19 previous times, with West Georgia holding a 14-5 series lead. The teams met twice last year with Samford winning both matchups. The Bulldogs won, 11-7 on the road and then earned a 10-7 win at home.
Samford is scheduled to start right-handed pitcher
Will Andre in Tuesday night's contest. Andre has a 0-0 record and an ERA of 6.28. West Georgia has listed right-handed pitcher Wilson Donnelly as its starter. Donnelly enters the game with a record of 0-2 and an ERA of 11.74.
Samford comes into the week with a record of 12-14 overall and 1-2 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs won two-of-three games from Presbyterian over the weekend. Presbyterian took game one, 7-5, but Samford won the final two games, 7-4 and 5-0.

Parker McDonald was named the Southern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. In four games last week, McDonald hit .615 (8-for-13) with four doubles, a home run and four RBI.
Samford has been led at the plate so far this season by
Jake Souders, hitting .400 (38-of-95) with six home runs and 18 RBI.
Trey Higgins leads the team in home runs with seven so far this season, while
Luke Boykin leads the squad in RBI with 23.
Gus Gandy is hitting .344 (32-for-93) with five doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI. Higgins is hitting .325 (26-of-80) with seven homers and 19 RBI.
West Georgia comes into Tuesday night's game with a mark of 8-20 overall and 5-4 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Last weekend, the Wolves won two-of-three games at Queens. UWG won the first two games, 10-9 and 7-1 before falling in game three, 9-8.
West Georgia has been led at the plate by Patrick McCullough, batting .362 (42-of-116) with six doubles, four home runs and 19 RBI. Andon Lewis leads the team in home runs with six and in RBI with 27.
