Bulldogs Head To Kennesaw State For Four-Game Series This Weekend

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.
 – The Samford University baseball team will travel to Kennesaw State for a four-game series this weekend. The teams are set for a single game Friday at 3 p.m., a doubleheader Saturday at 11 a.m. and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m. All four games can be seen live on ESPN+.
 
Samford is scheduled to start right-handed pitcher Mason Blasche (0-2, 7.07 ERA) in game one, right-hander Joseph Lee (0-0, 4.26 ERA) in game two, right-hander Andrew Marble (1-1, 7.94 ERA) in game three and right-hander Noah Berry (1-1, 2.35 ERA) in game four.
 
Samford and Kennesaw State have met 25 previous times, with Kennesaw State holding a 13-12 series lead. The teams played in a four-game series at Joe Lee Griffin Field last season, with the teams splitting the four contests.
 
Samford comes into the weekend with a record of 5-7. The Bulldogs dropped a hard-fought 6-2 game at seventh-ranked Auburn Tuesday evening.
 
Samford has been led at the plate so far this season by Jake Souders, hitting .386 (17-of-44) with two home runs and six RBI. Luke Boykin leads the team in both home runs with five and in RBI with 17. Cade Carr is hitting .378 (14-of-37) with a home run and nine RBI, while Gus Gandy has a .357 (15-of-42) average with two home runs and five RBI.
 
Kennesaw State enters the weekend with a mark of 5-6. The Owls dropped an 11-1 decision at eighth-ranked Georgia Tuesday evening.
 
Kennesaw State has listed right-handed pitchers Cooper McMullen, Nolan Sliver and Logan Brock as its starters for the first three games. The Owls have not named a starter for game four yet.
 
Kennesaw State has been led so far this season by Cooper Williams, hitting .395 (15-of-38) with three doubles, three home runs and 11 RBI. James McGeee is hitting .381 (8-of-21) with two home runs and three RBI.
