GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. ALABAMA A&M (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University baseball team will return home to play host to Alabama A&M Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Joe Lee Griffin Field. The game can be seen live on ESPN+ and live stats will also be available.
 
Samford is scheduled to start right-handed pitcher Andrew Marble on the mound Tuesday night. Marble enters Tuesday evening with a record of 1-1 and an ERA of 7.94. Alabama A&M has yet to name a starting pitcher for Tuesday night's contest.
 
Samford and Alabama A&M have met 26 times, with Samford holding a 24-2 series lead. The teams last met in 2020, with Samford earning a 5-1 win. Samford has won the last seven meetings in the series.
 
Samford comes into the week with a record of 5-9. The Bulldogs dropped two games at Kennesaw State over the weekend, falling by scores of 8-3 and 9-6.
 
Samford has been led at the plate so far this season by Jake Souders, hitting .404 (21-of-52) with two home runs and six RBI. Luke Boykin leads the team in both home runs with five and in RBI with 17. Gus Gandy and Cade Carr are both hitting .333 entering this week. Gandy had two home runs and five RBI, while Carr has a home run and 11 RBI.

Alabama A&M comes into the week with a record of 5-12. The visiting Bulldogs were swept in a four-game series at UNC Asheville over the weekend.
 
Alabama A&M has been led by Miles Jackson, batting .400 (16-of-40) with four doubles, two triples, one home run and 14 RBI. Tervell Johnson has hit three home runs and driven in 13 RBI.
