"I feel like after every game I talk about how much I like our team and how much we believe in these guys," Samford head coach Tony David said. "We haven't always put it together, but we really did it this weekend. It started with the pitching, three great starts for us and then relievers came in and filled it up. Specifically, today, it started with Berry. He was great again, he has been so consistent for us."

Samford jumped on top first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Carr doubled to drive in Pierce Dutton for the game's first run. Boykin then hit a two-run home run to center field to give Samford a 3-0 lead.
